At The Ethics Centre in Sydney (Gadigal) CBD.
23rd and 24th April 2024
Nope! we are open to those between 16-30 if a real interest is shown.
The retreat is a 2 day project where young people with lived experience of parental incarceration can come together in building our own community collectively. There is no 'end goal' but rather a flexible environment in which those who take part have the freedom and autonomy to curate the retreat in a direction the group sees fit. Over the course of 2 days we will undertake creative activities, visual mapping and discovery to unpack the invisible issue that is parental incarceration. We hope by the end of those 2 days we have begun the foundational work in forming our own safe space which can blossom into advocacy, action and community work in the near future.
Of course - participants will be reimbursed $200 per day for taking part in the retreat and will be supported with any other needs identified on a case by case basis. For example referrals or job applications.
Reach out to us via email or socials and we will be sure to keep in contact with any upcoming opportunities for involvement. We are also open to suggestions!
